Learn to type

Learn typing online, one lesson at a time

Choose English, Hindi, Marathi or Punjabi. The 136 lessons start with key positions and move on to words and passages. In the free lesson sequence, earn three stars to open the next lesson. A paid plan opens every lesson at once. If you already type without looking down, changing an existing typing habit is worth reading first.

How to learn typing for a government exam

Work through the lessons in order until your fingers stop hunting for keys, then move to timed passages, where mistakes start costing marks. When the same keys keep catching you out, repeat that lesson rather than pushing on. If this is your first visit, how to use this site walks through one session from start to finish.

First, the layout your notice names

Practising on the wrong keyboard wastes the work, and Hindi has three in use: Mangal InScript, Remington GAIL and Kruti Dev. Once you know which one applies to you:

  • English. Finish the QWERTY lessons, then take a 10-minute typing test to see where your speed actually sits.
  • Hindi. Read the Hindi typing practice guide before the lessons, so you start on the right one of the three.
  • SSC, RRB or a court post. Check the requirements comparison for the speed you are working towards, then confirm it against your own notice.

Then, your first timed test

Pick your exam in the app before you start, so the timer and the error rules match the real one. Check the editing keys first: they are not the same everywhere, most presets allow backspace only inside the word you are typing, and one blocks it completely. Afterwards the WPM and KDPH calculator puts your result in the unit your notice uses, and the source notes show where each rule came from. For exam-style timing outside the lessons, use an online typing test.
